Coffee with a Cop

Coffee with a Cop

On the first Wednesday in October, National Coffee with a Cop Day brings men and women in uniform together with their communities to connect over a cup of joe.

Thanks to Lookout Mountain resident and host of the Mountain Echo podcast, Will Newberry, our local officers were treated to a cup of coffee and conversation at Canopy Coffee and Wine on Wednesday, October 4, 2023.  Residents stopped by to say hello and offer their thanks for all that the officers do to keep our mountain safe. Josh Parry, Manager of Canopy Coffee and Wine,  assisted Will in planning the event. In addition to monetary donations and pastries donated by a resident, the Market on the Mountain showed their support by giving a bag of coffee to each department.

Inspired by the cliche about officers and their coffee shop donuts, the national observance encourages communities to sponsor an event that will bring citizens and those on patrol together. The events provide an opportunity for open dialogue and improved communication. They also break down barriers and create a valuable bridge to relationships in our communities. Once again, our community comes together to show how grateful we are for our local heroes!
