Hours of Operation for Recycling 
Monday - Friday 
6:30 am - 4:00 pm

The Department of Public Works consists of the Supervisor, the Assistant Supervisor and seven employees. They maintain some 21 parks, 21 miles of roadway, alleyways and rights of way. Minor repairs of pot holes and other deterioration are made as needed. Scenic and Ochs Highways are maintained by the City of Chattanooga and TDOT. 

Public Works employees run garbage service on Monday and Thursday each week. Click here  for more information about garbage pick up. 

Brush Pick up runs on a similar schedule as garbage.  The crews do their best to pick up brush each week, visiting all sections of the mountain on their weekly route. However, there may be times when other projects or weather related needs arise and brush pick up is postponed. Click here  for more detailed information about brush pick up.  

Cardboard, Single Stream and Glass Recycling is available at the Public Works building, 9:00 am- 3:00 pm every week day. 

The first Saturday of each month, the Town provides a Dumpster for items too large for the garbage pick up. Click here for more information. 

Tennessee American Water Co., EPB, and Chattanooga Gas are solely responsible for their services and should be contacted directly. However, it is their responsibility to repair completely any damages their services cause to Town property and the Town should be notified should a resident observe their failure to do so.

The sewer system is maintained by the WWTA.  If you experience any sewer problem outside your home, please call the WWTA at 423-209-7842.  For night and weekend emergencies, call 423-209-6408.
