FIRE SUPRESSION & LAW ENFORCEMENT 

Lookout Mountain Police and Fire Department personnel are cross-trained in law enforcement and fire fighting capacities. All officers are State Certified Police Officers  and minimum state Basic Firefighters. The department is also staffed and equipped to respond to medical emergencies with both EMT's and Paramedics on duty 24/7.  The department provides Advanced Life Support 1st response along with transport by Hamilton County EMS.
 
COMMUNICATIONS

Town of Lookout Mountain TN Communications is staffed 24/7 with dedicated dispatch personnel.  Lookout Mountain Communications is a satellite agency of Hamilton County 911 and provides call center operation and dispatching to Lookout Mountain TN Fire and Police  personnel.  Land line 911 calls are automatically routed to Lookout Mountain Communications and are processed and dispatched.  The Fire and Police Department communicates using 800 MHZ radios.
 
MUTUAL AID

Lookout Mountain, TN and Lookout Mountain, GA townships have a mutual aid agreement and will come to the aid of the other town when possible during law enforcement, fire, and medical emergencies.  The Department is also a member of
Tri-State Mutual Aid which will also provide equipment and manpower during a large emergency. 
 
INVESTIGATIONS

Investigations are handled by the Lookout Mountain Police Department and also through Mutual Aid with the Hamilton County Sheriffs Office Criminal Investigations Division. Investigation personnel maintain a strong working relationship with other local, county, state, and federal authorities.
 
Radar detection is regularly used to maintain posted speed limits.
